Dinner Concerts

In one of the concerts that I have watched before, the production team (I know) used good lighting truss that were high enough to light the whole stage. Even though I was not that near the stage, I could still see clearly the performer, and by the way, it was a dinner concert, so it came with a delicious serving of food. I had a great time watching the concert and at the same time, savoring the sumptuous meal I had. It was not cheap but it was worth it. The performer was one of the most famous singers in the country and he was on tour and the dinner concert was the perfect event for Valentine’s day.

With good food, good music and a romantic ambiance, it was the perfect setting to fall in love.

Angry Bird Sandwich

While browsing my newsfeed in Facebook,  I saw an article on 15 cute snacks or lunch for kids. So I opened up the article and read through it. One snack really caught my eye, it’s the Angry Bird sandwich.

Although the Angry Bird craze and hype have already faded away, I still thought of making one for Kuya Bogs following the recipe in the article. Here’s a shot of the Angry Bird sandwich I made for his lunch today. Just pardon the image, I took it with my old iPad.

Angry Bird sandwich

This sandwich calls for:

  1. mini bagels – in my case, I did not have mini bagels that time, so instead, I used bread (which was easier to form), I used white bread here, you can either have whole wheat or any other kind.
  2. salami or ham – cut it to form a mouth, reserve the remaining portion to make the hair on top of the bird’s head.
  3. parmesan cheese – for the white part of the eyes
  4. black olives for the brows and pupils – I did not have black olives too so I just used raisins for this part.
  5. cheddar cheese – shaped into a beak

Assemble everything and viola! In just a little under 5 minutes, I had a sandwich for Kuya Bogs, and guess what! He loved it! He finished his entire lunch in school just only during snack time! Hubby had to bring him another sandwich to school for his lunch!

It was a hit! :-)
